The Friday Food Pack program is designed to support any Tecumseh Student who may not have access to sufficient food/ nutrients over the weekend. Each Friday, eligible students receive a pack filled with easy-to-eat, non-perishable snacks that can help bridge the gap until they return to school on Monday. These packs are put directly into the students lockers/ backpacks, as to not call attention or single any student out.
CLC Locker Room at Tecumseh Middle School
The Locker Room houses new and gently used clothing items to students in need. This program ensures that students have access to essential clothing, ranging from everyday wear to winter gear. By offering a variety of items, including coats, hats, gloves, and regular school attire, this program helps students stay warm during the colder months and feel comfortable and confident throughout the school year.
This program also extends to providing help with uniforms for extracurricular activities. (Ex. Band uniform & shoes.)
Hygiene Items
We also provide hygiene items for all grades as needed. These items include essentials such as toothpaste, soap, deodorant, and other personal care products.
School Supplies
CLC is dedicated to ensuring that all students have the necessary tools for academic success. We will help to provide items from a student's class list, including essentials like backpacks, notebooks, pencils, markers, and paper. By offering these essential items, we strive to support all students' learning experience.
How To Access These Basic Need Items
Do you know a Tecumseh Student in need of the above programs? Any student in need may be referred by reaching out to your student's current Teacher, Counselor, Building Administrator, or directly to a Community Learning Connection Staff Member.
While parents/adults are learning valuable tools & concepts to improve their future, their children are engaged with games, activities, and homework help. Dinner is also provided for the participating families.
This class takes place in the Winter/Spring months, and is limited to 10 families per session. Upon completion of the Getting Ahead course, each family will receive a monetary stipend for their participation. Building Healthy Communities
There are multiple areas that contribute to the well-being of an individual. These include emotional, social, spiritual, physical, environmental, occupational, and intellectual. While each is important on its own, together they form the foundation of our well-being! In school, the well-being of our students helps ensure the highest potential for learning. Part of that learning process includes our staff. Therefore, their well-being is equally important to the education process and the success of your child. To help our school incorporate well-being into our day, we applied for and were awarded the Building Healthy Communities: Step Up for School Wellness program. This program provides resources and support for our students and staff around physical activity, physical education, healthy eating, nutrition education, social & emotional health, and overall well-being strategies. The program allows our school to select from a variety of resources each year and implement the program at our pace. This year (2025-2026) we were awarded grant money to implement programs at Sutton Early Learning Center and Tecumseh High School. Like to learn more? Please visit bhcwsu.org/

Students Of Support:
Students of Support is designed to promote the mental health and well-being of our youth. It focuses on building resilience and creating a supportive community by connecting students with trusted adults and peers. The program teaches our students how to identify their own strengths and use them to overcome challenges, encourage positive relationships, and healthy coping strategies.
By involving TPS staff, teachers, and community members, Students of Support aims to create a network of support that helps prevent issues like bullying, substance abuse, and suicide. It's all about empowering our students to thrive and feel connected, safe, and valued.
Students of Support is currently being offered at both the high school and the middle school and is open to any student.
Jr. SADD is an extension of the SADD program designed for younger students, typically in middle school. It aims to instill the same values and awareness at an earlier age, preparing students to make positive decisions as they grow older. Both programs emphasize leadership, advocacy, and the importance of making healthy choices. The overall goal of both SADD & Jr. SADD is to create a safe and supportive environment for students to thrive and make informed, responsible decisions. https://www.sadd.org/
T-Town Safety
T-Town Safety is a one-week, half-day educational program designed to teach young children essential safety skills in a fun and engaging way. Geared toward students in Young 5s through 2nd grade, this program introduces important topics such as gun safety, emergency services, fire safety, and personal safety awareness.
Through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, and engaging demonstrations, children learn how to recognize dangers, respond to emergencies, and make safe choices in everyday situations. The program partners with local police, fire departments, and emergency responders to provide real-world knowledge and experiences, such as meeting first responders, exploring emergency vehicles, and practicing safety drills.
Each day of the program focuses on a different safety topic, ensuring that young learners develop the confidence and knowledge to navigate potential hazards safely. By the end of the week, participants will have a strong foundation in safety awareness, emergency
preparedness, and responsible decision-making.
MAYHEM
Middle School Mayhem is a revamped, math centered summer camp that offers 17.5 hours of instruction for in-coming 6th graders. This program is offered to TMS students who could benefit from additional resources to be sixth-grade math ready. Mayhem is all about learning while having fun. Our hands on learning approach to math encourages campers to realize math is all around them.
We empower campers to take leadership and team roles while building communication skills through games and kayaking. Students engage in real world math skills from graphing planes with string art to multiplying fractions, while also learning life skills like cooking and sewing. With support from the TMS counseling department, our campers also focus on mental health through breathing techniques, learning stress reducing activities, how to deal with middle school stress, and yoga.
Mayhem will have your camper ready to show off new life skills and increased math confidence.
