STUDENT PROGRAMS

Building Healthy Communities
There are multiple areas that contribute to the well-being of an individual. These include emotional, social, spiritual, physical, environmental, occupational, and intellectual. While each is important on its own, together they form the foundation of our well-being! In school, the well-being of our students helps ensure the highest potential for learning. Part of that learning process includes our staff. Therefore, their well-being is equally important to the education process and the success of your child. To help our school incorporate well-being into our day, we applied for and were awarded the Building Healthy Communities: Step Up for School Wellness program. This program provides resources and support for our students and staff around physical activity, physical education, healthy eating, nutrition education, social & emotional health, and overall well-being strategies. The program allows our school to select from a variety of resources each year and implement the program at our pace. This year (2024-2025) we were awarded grant money to implement programs at Tecumseh Acres and Tecumseh Middle School. Like to learn more? Please visit bhcwsu.org/

Jr. SADD is an extension of the SADD program designed for younger students, typically in middle school. It aims to instill the same values and awareness at an earlier age, preparing students to make positive decisions as they grow older. Both programs emphasize leadership, advocacy, and the importance of making healthy choices. The overall goal of both SADD & Jr. SADD is to create a safe and supportive environment for students to thrive and make informed, responsible decisions. https://www.sadd.org/
