FAMILY NIGHTS/ GETTING AHEAD CLASSES
Family Nights/ Getting Ahead classes are a 12 session curriculum that helps adults facing financial hardship build their resources for a more prosperous life for themselves, their families, and community. This class is led by an experienced facilitator, who encourages exploring critical issues that may cause individuals to experience economic difficulty. The program facilitator guides participants through an assessment of their own resources (banking, housing, jobs, transportation) and how to build on those resources as part of their move towards self-sufficiency.
While parents/adults are learning valuable tools & concepts to improve their future, their children are engaged with games, activities, and homework help. Dinner is also provided for the participating families.
This class takes place in the Winter/Spring months, and is limited to 10 families per session. Upon completion of the Getting Ahead course, each family will receive a monetary stipend for their participation.
